My Values
Promoting body inclusivity within our community, the wellness space & wider, where in every practise the focus is on how the movement feels internally in the body & never how it looks externally.
Empowering bodily autonomy among my students, helping them to strengthen their own mind-body connection, teaching them about their own nervous system & assuring them that they never have to take any poses or movements their body does not want to do. It is always up to them.
Prioritising play and pleasure on and off the mat, I believe that the key to living long and happy lives is to find the joy and the awe in the small, everyday things.
Self-understanding, providing the tools to help you understand and regulate your own nervous system, back into your parasympathetic nervous response.
Community, holding the space to allow vulnerable, authentic relationships with others to cultivate & grow, it is in these moments where we find true, meaningful & deep connections.
I believe that these values are everybody's absolute birthright
I make it my mission to teach in a way that reminds every person who steps into one of my classes of this.
My hope is that when I teach in a way that is in-keeping with these values, the benefits seep off my students’ yoga mats and into their everyday lives; where they can begin to live more freely and more comfortably in the bodies they are are in, knowing with certainty that they are safe and empowered to exercise their bodily autonomy in all areas of their lives. They also learn to naturally look for the awe and the joy in the everyday, and grow more of an understanding of the self; specifically how to bring themselves back into regulation after a trigger, so they can respond to challenges from a place of calm & strength. Whilst the feeling of connection to others in the community provides an important sense of belonging, understanding & acceptance, which is so crucial for our overall happiness.
